Legal Basis

Under GDPR, we process your data based on the following legal grounds:

Consent: Analytics tracking via PostHog is disabled by default and only activated with your explicit consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the settings.
Legitimate interest: Error monitoring and performance tracking via Sentry, to ensure a stable and reliable app experience. This processing is minimal and does not require your consent.
Performance of contract: Account data (email, preferences) and learning progress, necessary to provide the service you signed up for.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely by Supabase, Inc. on servers located in the European Union (EU). Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf for database hosting and authentication services.

Sentry, Inc. is used for error monitoring and performance tracking. Sentry acts as a data processor on our behalf and processes error logs and performance data to help us maintain a stable app experience. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a reliable service.

International Data Transfers

Some of our data processors may transfer data outside the European Union:

Sentry (error monitoring and performance): processes error logs and performance data. EU-hosted servers are used when available.
PostHog (anonymized analytics, only with your consent): processes anonymized usage data. EU-hosted servers are used when available.

All transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards in compliance with GDPR.

Data Retention

Account data: retained as long as your account is active.
Learning progress: retained as long as your account is active.
Anonymized data: may be retained indefinitely for service improvement purposes. This data cannot be linked back to you.
Account deletion: when you delete your account, all personal data associated with it (email, preferences, learning progress) is permanently deleted.

Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

Access your personal data
Rectify your data
Delete your account and all associated personal data
Withdraw your consent to analytics tracking at any time
Lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence

Analytics Tracking

Analytics tracking is disabled by default. If you enable it, we use PostHog, Inc. (hosted on EU servers) to collect anonymized data that helps us improve the app. PostHog processes the following data on our behalf: quiz progress statistics, anonymized interaction events, and device technical information.

You can enable or disable tracking at any time in the settings.
